Our adventure begins in Bamboo, right off the Telire river. You will travel in a rustic wooden motor boat with two local guides for 45 minutes upriver through the waters of Telire and Yorkin, which is border between Costa Rican and Panamanian territory. Enjoy the journey while watching the beautiful nature and spotting some animals on the way. Upon arrival on Yorkín or Alakolpa, you will walk through the forest to get to the hostel located in the mountain. There, you can enjoy and learn from Indigenous culture and life, and take a walk through the woods in the forest. Later, enjoy a delicious typical lunch made with local produce.
Enjoy a leisure walk in the Cahuita National Park, at only 7 km to the entrance of Puerto Vargas. We will go through a path between forest and sea, crossing two small creeks. While walking, you will appreciate the wildlife that lives in the park such as: howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, sloths, anteaters and birds. You can also cool off in the refreshing sea and enjoy the waves. At the end of our walk, we will stop at a special area to eat and relax!
Savor and enjoy a pleasant experience of the South Caribbean culture through its exotic food. Spend some time in the kitchen and help prepare a delicious Caribbean dish. Learn side to side with an expert, and discover the stimulating odors and flavors from the South Caribbean of Costa Rica. Finally sit at the table and enjoy every bite. ¡Buen apetito! From the forest to the craft shop, the raw material is brought to make beautiful and colorful baskets of different sizes and shapes. Be part of the process and interweave the natural colored fibers into your own creation. See how it slowly gives way to a basket and learn from the indigenous culture while you make it. At the end of the class, will have a natural souvenir with your own personal touch.
If you want to have a true adventure and a cultural experience, we invite you to spend a night at an indigenous typical home up in the mountain surrounded by beautiful nature. Enjoy the delicious morning breakfast made in a wooden stove, visit the Dtsowoú Culture House, and learn about some of the customs and legends of the Bribrí Culture.
